1992 The Blackwater Taverm (owner Teddy O'Neill) Direendraugh, Blackwater, Sneem, County Kerry Ireland 1992: The Gay Byrne Radio Show, (Ireland's most listened to show) celebrated 'Big Bertha', reaching 48 years of age and appearing in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's oldest cow. In this photograph show Joe Duffy and owner Farmer Jerome O’Leary cut the cake outside the pub as the party is broadcast live on air in 1992. Bertha left her 'mark' on the floor during the transmission.
Big Bertha died on New Year's Eve 1993.
