AIMS-ASSOCIATION OF MUSICAL THEATRE AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN KILLARNEY<br />

Loud applause could be heard in the Kingdom last night as The Association of Irish Musical Societies had its Annual Awards Ceremony in the INEC. Well over 1,400 members were in full voice as the winners were announced by MC Fergal D'arcy.<br />

Bravo Theatre Group were gliding high in the Sullivan Section as they took home 4 awards for their  powerful production of Ragtime including Best Musical Director for Shane Farrell, Best Chorus and topping the their night by winning Best Overall Show. Coolmine Musical Society were certainly following that dream as their production of All Shook Up took home Best Comedienne for Serena Salmon, Best Director for Pat McElwain, 3rd place in the Overall Show.<br />

In the Gilbert Section, Lexilip Musical and Variety Group were big winners on the night taking home Best Director for Claire Tighe, Best Musical Director for David Hayes, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Jacqueline Brunton and Best Overall Show for their stunning production of West Side Story. For their hilarious production of The Producers, Teachers Musical Society won Best Comedian for Seán Hendley, Best Stage Management and Best Chorus. Carrick on-Suir Musical Society's majestic production of Into The Woods took home Best Technical and Runner Up in Best Overall Show.<br />

Fiona Shirran & Philippa Alford were awarded the Adjudicators Special Award for their crazy cameo in the saintly production of Sister Act with Kilcock Musical& Dramatic Society, which also saw Helena Begley winning Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the same p
