Paddy Prendergast, fullback on the last Mayo senior football team to win an All-Ireland in 1951 proudly holding his All-Ireland medal at home in Ballinorig, Tralee this week ahead of his county's semi-final clash with Kerry. Rumour has it that in 1951 the All Ireland winning Mayo team passed a funeral in Foxford without paying respects, causing the priest to put a curse on them. As long as any of that winning team were alive, they wouldn’t lift Sam. <br />
