Dancing the Hula . . . from the South Seas to Dingle
Poppy Melia dances the South Seas Hula for Pauline Bewick and Susan Callery at the official opening of her mother's (Pauline Bewick) South Seas painting exhibition at the Greenlane Gallery in Dingle at the weekend.
Poppy and her sister, Holly, both artists, accompanied their mother to the South Seas in 1989 and frequently danced the Hula on the islands for tourists. This exhibition is the first time Bewick’s South Seas collection has been shown in Ireland since 1992 and will feature work by the artist from this period that has never been seen in public before. The exhibition will run until end of January 2005
