103 YEARS OLD KERRY LADY PLAY GOLF ON HER BIRTHDAY....
Ballybunion in Co. Kerry may be the majestic setting for the Murphy's Irish Open this week but on Monday local lady Peg Mahony celebrated her 103rd birthday with a visit to the championship links. Born accross the road for the famous course, now rated 6th best in the world, Peg decided to spend a short time down on the course where the professionals have started practising for Thursday's tee-up. Local groundsman Paul Murphy ferried Peg around the 18th gren in a buggy and then Peg took a few swings before holing a wonderful 10ft putt on the practise green. Later in the day Peg enjoyed a wonderful party with her three sisters, (all over 90years of age) at the family home in Doon Road, Ballybunion.
