The drizzly morning didn’t dampen spirits as cyclists embarked on a challenging 110km or 140km route which encompassed the magnificent mountains, valleys and the rugged coastline of the Beara peninsula.
Cyclists basked in wonderful sunshine as they passed through picturesque and quaint towns, including Ardgroom, Eyeries, Castletownbere, Adrigole and Glengarriff. Participants enjoyed food, music and chat at the food stations dotted along the route.
Communities along the Beara peninsula came out to support and welcomed the cyclists to their villages as well as encouraging them to keep going!
Cyclists arrived back the finish line to a festival like atmosphere and were treated to a well-earned massage, Japanese hot tubs, custom designed medal, live music and food.
