Scleip an t-Samhraigh - tearaway summer fun. Former Kerry footballer Paidi O'Se shows he still has a deft left leg as he dances with Siobhan Manson on Ventry beach at the launch of the annual Paidi O'Se 'Scleip an t-Samhraidh (Tearaway Week) on Monday..Ceoil, bia agus craic will be in full swing at Paidi O?Se's pub in Ventry, County Kerry all next week at the annual 'tearaway festival' where the music will break the speed and sound barriers. In its second year, the festival begins on Monday July 18th-24th will feature music from John Spillane, Johnny Reidy, Tim O'Riordan, Noel Shine, Mary Green, Pauline Scanlon and renowned world step dancers The Devaney family from Connemara and local musician Seamus Begley and Tim Edey. The weeklong festival will begin with smoked makerel directly from the sea served with summer salad and will end on Saturday with a trditional feasting on spare ribs, cabbage and spuds all grown within a few killometres of the pub. Celebrities expected to attend the festival include Bertie Ahern, Pat Rabbitt, members of the Haughery family, Liz O'Donnell, Rosanna Davidson and gaelic players from All-over Ireland..Paidi and Maire along with padraig Og and daughters Siun and Neassa will welcome and ensure everybody enjoys the summer festival..Picture by Don MacMonagle
