In time honoured tradition, a Kerry farmer digs his ridges and plants 'rooster potatoes' in a field overlooking Coomeenole Beach with the wild Atlantic Ocean andThe Blasket Islands in the distance on Monday. Planting potatoes is nearly a  month behind schedule due to the inclement weather this year.<br />
