6-3-2013: "The Hills are Alive with the sound of Movies?." World Renowned Kerry born artist Pauline Bewick pictured with filmaker Maurice Galway high up on the McGillycuddy Reeks Mountains for the launch of the 7th Dingle International Film Festiva which takes place from the 15th-18th of March. A special hour long film on the artist will be screened on St. Patrick's Night followed by an on stage interview with the artist by Senator David Norris. .The festival opens with Mark McLoughlin's documentary 'Blood Rising' recording painter Brian Maguire creating images of the many young women of Juarez, Mexico who have been murdered by the local drug cartels. The  International Animation fest organised with JAM media and featuring the 'Jimmy Murakami Award' named for Oscar nominee and the genius behind 'The Snowman' and 'When the Wind Blows' is a major innovation. A workshop for filmmakers who intend to graduate to feature films will supplement the forty plus screenings of shorts including a contribution from Soho House. The Rock Ticket, featuring Led Zep's 'Celebration Day' and a talk by director Dick Carruthers on how to shoot live music also includes The Beatles' 'Magical Mystery Tour' with producers Anthony Wall and Apple's Jonathan Clyde discussing their influential work chronicling the best of the rock era.
