The Hurricane returns.... Killarney 23-2-04

Hurricane Higgins blew in from the cold on Monday when the former world snooker champion took part in his first competitive game for over 5 years. Alex Higgins who is suffering from cancer lined up the the green baize in the biggest pro-am ion the world at the INEC in Killarney on Monday and got off to a great start with victory in the first round over amateur Ollie Cunningham from Roscommon.

Their mother Nteta fled Ireland  to avoid deportation to South Africa where she claims her husband and son were murdered for their religous and political beliefs.

Kerry footballers Eoin Brosnan and Colm Cooper were given a warm reception and best wishes from young fans at Dr.Crokes GAA Club summer camp  in Killarney on Thursday. The two Dr.Crokes stars will line out with Kerry against Tyrone in the All Ireland semi-final in Croke Park on Sunday.
